 Mr. Ray Vaughn Smith, 64, of Bunnlevel, NC, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Rex Hospital, Raleigh, NC.

Ray Vaughn leaves to mourn him: wife Vivian Smith; children Addie S. “Rabbit” Smith, Raejane “RaeRae” Smith, Ray D. “RayRay” Smith, Sharon D. “Spoony” Thorpe, Temiki Chance Bell, Joseph D. Smith, Sirvone Smith, Alicia (Papoose) Harris; grandchildren Rashawn ”Poppi” McNeill, Rae’Veonna D. Smith, Braylen Smith, Brayson Smith, Brayden Smith, Teresa A. Chance, Ty’rese A. Chance, Mi’cah L.S. Chance, Kadan McDougald, Amiri Prince Chance, Arianna, Brieanna, Aaliyeauna, Ezekiel; two brothers Joe S. Smith and Andrew E. Smith (Lashonda); his father Devone Smith; his aunts Agnes Blue of Raleigh NC, Bertha Charlotte (Blue) Smith of Cameron NC, Grace (Blue) Hicks Castro of Raleigh NC, Mary (Blue) Hobbs- (Jay Hobbs) of Waukegan Illinois, Dr. Bennis Blue of Raleigh NC, Margaret Smith (Bobby) and Annie Smith (Roy); his maternal great aunt Ruby (Walker) Artis- (Cliffous Artis). Step-children Carlton, Adrienne, Roxanne, Niesha and Donavan. Additionally, he leaves a number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends to cherish his memory. A very special mention of Joy, Charlene, Nadine, Skeeter, Naussie, Flaco, Duke, Monster, Deuce, Fatboy and Drew1. Ray would have also want mention of his “brothers” Waddell and Lindell Spearman, Vernon Mosier and Timothy Harris.

A Celebration of Life for Mr. Ray Vaughn Smith will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023, Viewing will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., Walker Funeral Home Chapel, 163 Irene Roberts Road, Lillington, NC. Services will immediately follow the Viewing beginning at 1:00 p.m.
