Mr. Roosevelt McDowell, 74 , of Erwin, NC, passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2020, at Durham VA Health System, Durham, NC.

Extended family and friends are being received at the home of Niece, Benita (Michael) Harrington, located at 156 Fuller Dr. Lillington, NC 27546

Mr. Roosevelt was preceded in death by his parents, Dillon and Madie McDowell; brother Robert McDowell and sister, Shirley McLean. He leaves to cherish his memory, his niece, Benita (Michael) Harrington of Lillington, NC, his nephew, Lymon "Tony" McLean of Erwin, NC, great-nephews, Darius Antoine Lewis of Erwin, NC and Christopher J'waun McKoy of Lillington, NC, great-niece, J'Kayla Cameron of Greensboro, NC; great-great nephew, Darius Antoine Lewis, Jr. great-great niece, Brianna Kay Lewis, Plainview, NC; brother-in-law, Lymon McLean, Erwin, NC; ex-wife, Helen McDowell, Sanford, NC; and a host of relatives and friends, including Charles & Sandra Gilbert of Erwin, NC and Edith Lark, Nashville, Tennessee.

In lieu of flowers donations make donations to the American Cancer Society in his name.

A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2020, at 1:00 p.m., Walker Funeral Home Chapel, 163 Irene Roberts Rd, Lillington, NC 27546.

Interment will take place in Sandhills Veteran Cemetery located at 309 Murchison Rd, Spring Lake, NC 28390.
