Virginia ‘Bug” Smith

Ms. Virginia ‘ Bug”  Smith, 61, of Bunnlevel, NC, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2025, Central Harnett Hospital, Lillington, NC.

Extended family and friends will be received on Friday, April 25, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the home of her son, Elder Sheral (Brittany) Raines, located at: 982 Highgrove Dr., Spring Lake, NC, 28390.

Virginia was proceeded in death by her parents, sisters, Carolyn Elaine Taylor, Mary Frances Smith, Louise Smith, Mary Smith Hilton, and Lillie Mae Smith Elliott, and nieces and nephews, Becky Smith, Pamela Smith, James C. Elliott, Debbie Ann Elliott McKoy, and Larry Elliott Jr.

Ms. Virginia's legacy will continue in the lives and memories of her family and friends, her only son, Sheral Raines (Brittany), her grandchildren, Nadia Shanelle Raines, whom she called "Nuke," Layla Sherelle Raines, whom she called "Lay," and Nathan Elijah Raines, whom she loved to call "Lijah," and her siblings, Janet Faye Taylor Gunn, Calvin Lee Taylor, Gwendolyn Smith McDougald, and Howard Earl Smith. She has too many nieces and nephews to count.

Viewing will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. (family will be present at 2:30 p.m.), Celebration of Life will follow the viewing beginning at 3:00 p.m., Victory Tabernacle, 7330 NC 27 W, Lillington, NC.

Interment will follow immediately after service in St. Timothy Church Outreach Ministries Cemetery, Erwin, NC.
